Lots of talk about adultery in these first books of Proverbs. In the past I've tended to skip past them because read literally they are a father talking to his son, and I'm a woman! I can't even take the roll of the wayward wife, since I'm a single woman. But I'm trying to read through these anyway, I committed to do so this month, and see what else God might have to say to me, a single 50 something woman. Verse 2 is the nugget for me from today's reading.
Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.
I see this as the point of this whole chapter today. God's Word and His teachings are to be the apple of my eye - not the lure of whatever is down the street or around the corner today.
